January Makeup Favourites

Hey everybody, I’m back with another blogpost. This week I am going to be sharing with you my favourite makeup items of January so far, I wanted to keep it simple as this is my first official blogpost and I am still learning. This month I have been able to try new makeup products as I received some for Christmas, I have also been purchasing new makeup as I really would like my collection to increase. I have been so pleased with some of my new buys and I can not wait to share my opinion. Some of these products I have used many times before, but they will always be my holy grails.

So, the first few products are from the brand called ‘L.A Girl’. I discovered this brand on one of my favourite makeup websites- beauty bay. I have been loving L.A Girl because I find that their products are 100% worth it. The prices are extremely affordable, and the quality is amazing. The items in the image are:

·        L.A Girl PRO coverage HD foundation – Fair (it’s a bit of a mouthful so I’ve shortened it a bit)

·        L.A Girl PRO conceal HD concealer- light ivory

·        L.A Girl PRO Primer

Let’s start with the foundation, it does everything it says. I found that it feels so light on the skin and looks flawless. I haven’t had it on for 24 hours, but I have had it on for a good 7 hours. It stayed put, but like any foundation I have ever tried, it starts to go slightly patchy towards the evening. This is one of my top favourites and I’ve been using it a lot throughout January and I’ve been happy with my makeup every time. Now for the concealer, I love the formula of this product and its one of my favourites because It is very similar to the foundation in the way that it is full coverage and sits so well on my skin. I have the colour light ivory and it matches perfectly with my skin tone and blends with the foundation pleasantly. The primer is amazing. It is one of the best I’ve tried in a while and I have been using it a lot throughout January. Whenever I apply it onto my skin, my face feels so smooth and it allows my makeup to go on well.

Now for brows. I have tried many brow products in my time of doing makeup and at the start of 2018 I really wanted to find a good brow product. I’d heard that the freedom pomade was a good dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow, so I tried it out. I purchased it at a significant price - £2.50. It is the best £2.50 I’ve spent on a makeup product. The pomade formula is so creamy, and I have found it easy to use. I haven’t gone a day without wearing it and I believe it looks like a natural brow. I have it in the colour ash brown and it gives my brow a slight tint but I quite like a tinted brow. I’ve used it a lot so far throughout January and I can’t believe it was so cheap. I use the revolution E104 pro brow brush, It’s dense but also very soft and picks up the product well.
Highlighter is one of my favourite pieces of makeup and I think it completes every makeup look. I used to use the revolution highlighter all the time in the colour ‘golden lights’. I wanted to try it out again and I’m so glad I did. I feel it really pops when I go for a more of a warm toned makeup look with an orange eyeshadow. There hasn’t been a time in January when I haven’t been complimented when I’ve have been wearing it. I like the formula as it doesn’t look cakey. I have also been loving a more high-end product from Mac. As you can see this highlighter is totally different from the other one in colour, it has a pink tone to it. I didn’t know how to feel about it at first because I usually prefer champagne coloured highlighters, but when I tried it out I liked it a lot. It goes well with any makeup look and is exceedingly pigmented. I have been swapping between the two in January and neither fail to impress me.

I could go on forever talking about my favourites of this month as I’ve had a lot. I always feel like I have so many new items to try out in January and this month I’ve loved them all. I hope to do more ‘monthly favourite’ blog posts, not only on beauty but other things that I love doing/using. My Beauty Wishlist For 2018

This week I decided to put together my top 5 beauty items that I would love to try by the end of 2018. I hope to buy these products myself, but some are quite expensive, so I might need to ask for them on my birthday or Christmas. Some of my picks are quite high-end but it would be amazing if I could get my hands on them and try a few new products. Whatever makeup I try out during 2018 I will be for sure giving my opinion and writing reviews on my blog. I would also like to put a disclaimer out there, that on this blogpost I do not claim for any of these photos to be my own, I simply went onto to google and makeup websites to find images so anyone reading this blogpost will have a clear understanding of what products are on my Wishlist.   (photo credit: beauty bay) Firstly, I would love to try out the Mario Badescu facial spray with aloe herbs and rose water. I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about these sprays and I really would like to ...

Get To Know Me!

Hey everybody, welcome to my first ever blog post. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for so long, but I haven’t believed in myself until now. I realised so much in 2017 and it has inspired me to become more confident and have courage to be more adventurous and say yes to more opportunities in 2018. The reason I wanted to create a blog, was because I have always loved writing in journals. I want to be able to continue my passion for writing but in a more modern way- on a computer. I want to be able to use this blog to chat about the subjects that interest me such as: makeup, fashion, lifestyle etc. Equally, I hope blogging will encourage me to have faith in myself and potentially help me towards creating my own style and tone of writing that will help me in the future.   Anyway, I feel that if I want my blog to connect with other people, then I need to explain a bit about myself for them to connect with me too. I wish to remain partly anonymous for now (this means that I won’...

Travel Bucket List

There are many places where I dream of going, they’re places that seem like there not real. I see all the time on my Instagram all the wonderful pictures of amazing bloggers, who get the opportunity to visit the destinations that could only be described as paradise. Travelling abroad is a memorable experience but taking the time to visit places in my own country is something I want to be able to do as well. I began to think of the places where I would love to travel to and after contemplating for hours, I managed to shorten my list to my top 5 desired places… 1.     Maldives: This place looks beautiful and I would feel like the luckiest person if I ever travelled there. The light blue oceans and white sands look so dreamy and I would definitely get some great photos. The clear sea means that the sea life is clear and if I got to sea dolphins, turtles and sting rays it would be a moment I would never forget. I could picture myself ...
